What are BIM USES?
“BIM uses” are the tasks or processes for which we use a BIM model. In order to give each actor in a BIM project the information they need, it’s vital to know the BIM uses in which they’re engaged.
Information needs vary greatly with BIM uses. The information required for drawing production, for instance, will be quite different from that needed for prefabrication, asset management or other tasks. Identifying and understanding the BIM use in each case is thus key for optimising data flows.
